CAB-O-SIL fumed silicas deliver a variety of powerful mechanical advantages to fiber-reinforced composite materials. While fumed silica has traditionally been used for rheology control in composites, a fast-growing demand for stronger composites is fueling increased research into silica as a reinforcing agent.
For resin producers and end-use part producers, we also offer conductive carbons to enhance electrical conductivity. Our CAB-O-SIL treated fumed silicas enable significant improvements in sag resistance and storage stability of bonding paste in wind energy applications. This facilitates the ability of producers to ship bonding paste to blade manufacturers around the world.
CAB-O-SIL® TS-720D FUMED SILICA FOR MOISTURE SENSITIVE SYSTEMS
The density of this fumed silica has been enhanced to facilitate quicker incorporation and handling. This enables shorter production processing times and increased productivity. Additionally, the increased density reduces dust generation during unloading and product transfer. This product variant contributes positively to sustainability by reducing packaging, transport costs and required storage space.
CAB-O-SIL® M-5 FUMED SILICA FOR GEL COATS
Our CAB-O-SIL M-5 hydrophilic fumed silica is a medium surface fumed silica that enables a significant increase in viscosity in liquid systems, free flow of powders and mechanical reinforcement of silicone and organic rubbers.
