Our local community

We focus on supporting local non-profit organizations that strive to make positive and lasting differences in the communities where we live and work. Our employees engage in a variety of outreach activities that support sustainable development, such as regular donations to a children’s daycare center that includes environmental education. We also take pride in our heritage and sponsor activities that celebrate the local culture and history. Donations and sponsorships are made through the Cabot Corporation Foundation, Inc., as well as through local business funding to projects that provide education to low-income youth in the 18-24 age group. These programs aim to prepare and qualify young people for their insertion in the labor market.

Cabot Brazil received the Supplier Recognition Award in the Utilities category from Indorama Ventures Indovinya. We are honored to be recognized for our continuous commitment to provide innovative and sustainable solutions that help our customers meet their sustainability goals.

Carbon Neutral Certificate

São Paulo, Brazil Regional Office Once Again Received Carbon Neutral Certification

For the third consecutive year, in collaboration with the entire São Paulo office team, all the necessary data for the mapping and consolidation of emissions were collected and submitted to the BV-Bureau Veritas audit, which approved the emission of 47,882t of CO2 equivalent during the calendar year 2023.

Seeking to neutralize these emissions, an investigation was carried out for the purchase of carbon credits, selecting the company CarboNext, a Brazilian company specializing in reforestation and preservation of native forests in Brazil. We purchased the correspondent carbon credits on December 13, 2024, from the “Envira Amazonia – A tropical forest conservation project in Acre, Brazil,” receiving the Certification (VCU´s) granted by VERRA - Foundation that regulates the global registration of carbon credits carbon.

This initiative is aligned with our sustainability goals, and we remain dedicated to working toward Cabot's net zero ambition by 2050. The Sustainability Group of Volunteers at the São Paulo office together with all its employees are proud once again for this important achievement!
